Progress update:

Through the National Park Management Plan Steering Group, a formal assessment of the likely impacts and risks of climate change on the National Park was produced in 2011. The report examines the risks and opportunities presented by a changing climate to the special qualities of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It describes what is already being done to adapt to climate change and looks ahead to future action.

The climate change impact assessment will be now be used to inform the development of a new National Park Management Plan in 2012, which will contain new aims and objectives to tackle the risks posed by climate change to the National Park.
