How you can help the Three Peaks
To successfully look after the Three Peaks area of the Yorkshire Dales National Park we need to:
save the network of footpaths and bridleways for walking, cycling, horseriding and other recreational activities,
protect the wildlife habitats in this special area,
and
raise awareness of the importance of the peaks.
Doing all of this is a huge task but you can help! Here’s how:
Help us raise money to directly support our work:
Join the Friends of the Three Peaks to donate and gain access to practical volunteering opportunities;
Celebrate conquering one or more of the peaks by buying special branded gifts from our online shop;
Recycle your old printer cartridges and mobile phones with Recycle4Charity, choosing the Friends of the Three Peaks as your beneficiary.
We will receive 50% of the recycling value for any mobile phones, £1 for each original empty inkjet cartridge or up to £5 per empty laser/toner cartridge donated kindly by you, friends, family or colleagues.
Come and visit the Three Peaks - responsibly!
When you visit the Three Peaks area, make it as sustainable as possible by using public transport and support local businesses. Stay local, shop local.
When exploring this beautiful countryside, use established paths and tracks to minimise damage to fragile habitats. Make sure you stay on paths, not straying off them to avoid a puddle or bit of mud and risk damaging the undergrowth next to the path.
If you are planning a large group walk or event, contact us early in the planning stage to discuss what you are wanting to do. See our ‘Organising large scale events’ page or email threepeaksproject@yorkshiredales.org.uk.
